Here we go, calling all music professionals to the fifthedition of FOLKELARM in Oslo. For four days, from thursday 17. to sunday 20.September, you’ll get the great opportunity to experience folk music in aplethora of forms, from the whole of Norway and also including some artistsfrom Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Folkelarm also provides an unique chance tomeet and discuss ideas with other leading promoters of traditional music in theNordic countries.

The Norwegian National Association for Traditional Music andDance welcomes you to Folkelarm (folk-clamour). Folkelarm has grownconsiderably since its inaugural event four years ago, and is now considered bymany as being Scandinavia’s most important event for thetraditional/world/crossover music industry.

Folkelarm is both a folk music convention and industrygathering which displays an impressive live line-up as well as popular seminarsand event programmes tailored for the growing international delegation.

Also this year we’re proud of presenting a stronglive programme, involving 21 different Norwegian as well as Nordic artists,performing about 50 showcases at the various venues of the wonderful culturalcomplex called Soria Moria ,

The showcase artists are carefully selected by the Folkelarmjury. This year´s artists are: Frikar, Afenginn, Den store NorskeGitarkvartett, Unni Løvlidens emble, Torgeir Vassvik, Hedningarna, ValkyrienAllstars, Rysstad/Storli/Morken, Henrik Jansberg - Jansberg Band, Frigg,Elisabeth Vatn - Piper on the Roof ensemble, Aslak O. Brimi og Erlend Viken,Dozo, Marie Forr Klåpbakken trio, Tiar, Hekla Stålstrenger, Gro Marie Svidal,Synnøve S. Bjørset, Ranarim, Seven Winds and Karoliina Kantelinen (Fin).

About registration, deadlines and prices:

To register for Folkelarm, you have to follow the link to the registration form. Internationaldelegates are free from charge. Norwegian delegates have to pay a fee to joinus. Media goes free from charge with press accreditation. If you are aFolkelarm conference main speaker or showcase artist you will get yourregistration for free. Folkelarm is a no-guest-list event, but we try to keepour registration fees as low as possible.

As soon as we’ve received your online registration, you willreceive a confirmation by mail. Upon arrival you have to check in at theFolkelarm festival office at Soria Moria. Here you will get the necessaryinformation and access cards to the arrangements
