Møte

- Intensity, desire, pure joy and brutality

Music turns to dance; he meets her - on a dance floor. ‘Møte’ (‘The meeting’) is a unique dance performance that presents Norwegian traditional dance in a modern stage language.

Inter-human relations is the theme of the performance and it is told through the languages of dance and music. The Norwegian folk dances provide the basis for humorous, sombre and indescribable moods performed with intensity, desire, joy and brutality.

Martin Myhr and Solveig Hårdnes put on display a broad palette of human emotions throughout the performance, which barely contains a single word.

Solveig Hårdnes and Martin Myhr are among Norway’s leading folk dancers. Myhr has been active as a freelance dancer since the 80s, and has won the National Dance Competition, the Landskappleik, a number of times and he has contributed to a wide range of theatrical performances, most recently in The Magic Flute - a folk opera. Hårdnes is one of Norway’s leading female folk dancers. In recent years she has contributed to such nationally successful performances as ‘Skal – skal ikkje’, ‘Laus’ and ‘Jenta som ingen kunne målbinde’.

Einar Olav Larsen, who hails from Verdal, is one of the country's leading folk musicians, and is active both as a soloist and in a number of ensembles.
