Sväng
A harmonica quartet might not bring forth associations with highbrow art or serious music-making, but Finnish outfit Sväng have convinced many non-believers that this little instrument can be very expressive with an almost unlimited potential. With an energetic stage presence and a repertoire composed by the group itself, Sväng have won over audiences around the world.
The grooves from the rare Harmonetta-harmonica combined with low-frequency bass harmonica are vital components of the band's distinctive sound.
With Balkan rhythms and melodies, swinging ragtime, sombre tangos, world music with a Nordic signature and wild improvisations, Sväng is a veritable on-stage riot of humour that is a must-see.
