Unni Boksasp Ensemble
Unni Boksasp Ensemble was born in spring 2007 when folk singer Unni Boksasp hand-picked a cast of highly skilled and diverse musicians to join her for the recording session that resulted in the album ‘Songs frå Havdal’, which featured tunes inspired by vocalist Magnhild Almhjell; one of Boksasp’s main inspirational sources.
The foundation for the ensemble's current repertoire is Unni Boksasp’s renditions of traditional songs from the northern Møre region as well original compositions. Unni Boksasp and her ensemble represent the strong power of the folk musical expression in the Møre region, all the while they maintain playful and explorative form expression in their music.
May 2010 saw the release of Unni Boksasp Ensemble’s second album ‘Keramello’.
