Britt Pernille Frøholm comes from Hornindal in Sogn og Fjordane and is considered to be one of the foremost Hardanger fiddle players in Norway. The versatile musician has released critically acclaimed albums with everything from traditional tune playing, as on her debut album "For allje dei", to free improvisation with jazz musicians, as on the album "Land" with North Pole Experience. She has become a renowned musician both nationally and internationally, and has toured in major parts of the world throughout the past 10 years with MAAR, Boreas, North Pole Experience and other collaborations.

On her most recent solo album "Nordfjord", Frøholm has gone back to her roots and home area. On her debut album "For allje dei", she focused on the traditional music from Hornindal; this time she taken a trip around the whole fjord. She has dug deep into the musical heritage, with all its stylistic variations, and revealed both well-known and previously unknown gems. At Folkelarm, Frøholm will present a wide range of fiddle and Hardanger fiddle tunes, performed with a combination of rawness and brilliance that will make both the old and new shine. Unpolished, powerful and poetic, with an underlying musical longing for home in the playing.
