INGUNN BJØRGO BAND

Ingunn Bjørgo er komponist og prisvinnende musiker på torader og trekkspill. Hun er inspirert av skandinavisk og irsk folkemusikk, i tillegg til nederlandsk balfolk. 

Musikken hennes har nådd et stort publikum både i Norge og i utlandet. Nylige eksempler er Allsang på grensen (2020) konsert i Asker Kulturhus (2023) og Rudolstadt-festivalen i Tyskland (2023).  

Hun har gitt ut hele seks album med egen musikk: Grenseland med Ingunn Bjørgo Band – Nybrott, Tettbygd strøk og Full Oppladding med AskerLadden – Skapdøl med bysko, Ingunn Bjørgo – and Huskelappen med Bjørgo&Reistad. 

Komposisjonene hennes er også brukt i film- og TV-produksjoner, og av andre artister som Helene Bøksle, Trygve Skaug og Gaute Ormåsen.  

Ingunns musikk har ikke bare nådd utover landegrensene, men også høstet anseelse utover folkemusikksjangeren. Ifølge Dagbladets anmeldelse av Huskelappen i 2015, vil til og med innbitte trekkspillhatere bli overbevist om at det bor mye i dette instrumentet, bare det «brukes med elegansen» til Ingunn Bjørgo.   

Ingunn leverer store musikkopplevelser – enten det er på små lokale arrangement, høytidelige konsertscener eller fyrige festivaler. Hun opptrer alltid med egenkomponerte låter – og gjerne med utvalgte musikere på laget.  

På Folkelarm deler hun et stemningsfullt knippe av sine fengende og melodiøse låter sammen med Ingunn Bjørgo Band.

Ingunn Bjørgo is a Norwegian composer and award-winning musician on diatonic and chromatic accordions. She is inspired by Scandinavian and Irish folk music, as well as Dutch balfolk. 

Her music has reached large audiences, both in Norway and abroad. Recent examples are Allsang på grensen (2020), concert in Asker Kulturhus (2023) and the Rudolstadt festival in Germany (2023).

Ingunn's music has not only raised interest beyond Norway – it is also recognized beyond the folk music genre. According to Dagbladet's review of Huskelappen in 2015, «Bjørgo’s playing should convince even die-hard accordion sceptics of the expressive power which this much-maligned instrument is capable of, when in the right hands. »  

Ingunn always delivers a high-quality performance – whether it's at small local events, solemn concert stages or fiery festivals. She creates a magical atmosphere with her self-composed melodies and will often include other talented musicians to beautifully accompany her music. 

At Folkelarm, she will share an assortment of her memorable and melodious tunes together with the Ingunn Bjørgo Band.
