Torkjel Bruland Lavoll from Førde started playing the Hardanger fiddle as a seven-year-old and, since then, Sigmund Eikås has been his most important teacher. Lavoll’s main focus is on the music from his home area of Vestlandet, but he is also not afraid to try out material from Hallingdal or Valdres.

To play for dancing is one of the best things he knows and, during the Folkelarm, Lavoll will deliver rhythmic and driving playing from his wide repertoire of razor sharp tunes. His playing has previously led him all the way to Uzbekistan and Japan, and he is really looking forward to travelling to Oslo to play for dancing at Folkelarm.
