GEORG BULJO (Sápmi)

Georg Buljo er en samisk/norsk joiker, musiker, komponist og produsent.

Han beveger seg fritt mellom tradisjonsmusikk og ulike sjangre, har gitt ut soloalbum og komponert og framført en rekke bestillingsverk med joik som kjerneelement.

Buljo har også laget musikk for artister som Mari Boine og Niko Valkeapää, komponert for film og scenekunst, og produsert album for tradisjonsbærere som Biret Risten Sara, Eli Storbekken og Johan Anders Bær.

Blant soloalbumene hans finner vi Duobbá dábba (2023), Jági (2022), Electric Bidus (2019) og Saxapahaw (2011).

I tillegg har han utgitt samarbeidsprosjekter som Du Dološ Dála Áigi (med Per Willy Aaserud, 2025), Moai (med Ole Jørn Myklebust, 2024), Nine Variations on Good Thoughts (med Tore Brunborg, 2023), Børli Ballader (med Camilla Granlien, 2018), og Neve (med Nils Økland, 2014).

Buljo har komponert musikk til den samiske kunstneren Britta Marakatt-Labba, og joiken hans Girdilan – I Take to the Air er med i den prisvinnende filmen Historja – Stitches for Sápmi (2022).

Bestillingsverket Kalvskinnsangen (2022) ble framført i Nidarosdomen under Olavsfest, der Buljo var solist sammen med Marja Mortensson, Niko Valkeapää, og Nidarosdomens Oratoriekor og band.

I OKTAN (2021) for Georg Buljo Trio og Det Norske Jentekor var han solist under både Festspillene i Nord-Norge og Oslo Internasjonale Kirkemusikkfestival.

Buljo ble kåret til «Årets profil» ved Festspillene i Nord-Norge (2015) og «Årets samiske artist» av Scene Finnmark (2014). Han har også framført joikene sine i Chennai (India), New York City (USA), Budapest (Ungarn) og Malawi.

GEORG BULJO (Sápmi)

Georg Buljo is a Sámi/Norwegian joiker, musician, composer, and producer. 

He moves freely between traditional music and various genres, has released solo albums, and composed and performed numerous commissioned works with joik as the central element. 

Buljo has also created music for artists such as Mari Boine and Niko Valkeapää, composed for film and stage, and produced albums for traditional performers like Biret Risten Sara, Eli Storbekken, and Johan Anders Bær. 

His solo albums include Duobbá dábba (2023), Jági (2022), Electric Bidus (2019), and Saxapahaw (2011). 

In addition, he has released collaborative projects such as Du Dološ Dála Áigi (with Per Willy Aaserud, 2025), Moai (with Ole Jørn Myklebust, 2024), Nine Variations on Good Thoughts (with Tore Brunborg, 2023), Børli Ballader (with Camilla Granlien, 2018), and Neve (with Nils Økland, 2014). 

Buljo has composed music for Sámi artist Britta Marakatt-Labba, and his joik Girdilan – I Take to the Air is featured in the award-winning film Historja – Stitches for Sámi (2022). 

The commissioned work Kalvskinnsangen (2022) was performed in Nidaros Cathedral during Olavsfest, where Buljo was a soloist alongside Marja Mortensson, Niko Valkeapää, and Nidarosdomens Oratoriekor and band. 

In his OKTAN (2021) for Georg Buljo Trio and The Norwegian Girls Choir, Buljo was a soloist at Festspillene i Nord-Norge and Oslo International Church Music Festival. 

Buljo was named “Profile of the Year” at Festspillene i Nord-Norge (2015) and “Sámi Artist of the Year” by Scene Finnmark (2014). He has also performed his joiks in Chennai (India), New York City (USA), Budapest (Hungary) and Malawi.
