Ragnhild Furebotten
- Intense, virtuoso, pure musical nerve
Fiddle player Ragnhild Furebotten interprets and conveys the traditions of the northern Norwegian folk music - a musical tradition that forms the base for all of her artistic expression. Furebotten is known as a solid conveyor of tradition, but with a distinctly personal form of expression and strong innovative elements in her music.
As a freelancer, Ragnhild is active in groups Hekla Stålstrenga and Ragnhild Furebotten trio, and also appears as a soloist in various productions.
Furebotten has contributed to six albums since 2003, earning a Spellemannspris, the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy, with 2003’s ‘Majorstuen’.
