TILIBO er namnet på samarbeidet mellom bergensgitarist/strengemeister Ole André Farstad, og koraspelar Ibou Cissokho fra Senegal, bosatt i Oslo. I april 2024 gav dei ut debutalbumet Woo La Ba, her fører dei arven etter storleikar som Tiomani Diabate og Ali Farka Touré vidare med den leikne kora-gitar-dialogen sin. Etterkvart har dei óg fått den eminente perkusjonisten Sidiki Camara fra Mali med seg på laget. Frå tusen år gamle songar, via bluesen og jazzen, og inn i moderniteten, er dette eit eksplosivt nytt samarbeid. Sidan platedebuten har trioen spelt mange konsertar rundt om i Noreg, og eit år inn i samarbeidet byrjar den musikalske kommunikasjonen verkeleg å bli finstemd.

Ibou Cissokho spelar på virtuost vis på det vestafrikanske strengeinstrumentet kora, som har 21 strengar. Ibou er vakse opp i ein stor forteljar- og musikarfamilie i Senegal, og han lærte å spele kora av far sin, den kjente musikaren Solo Cissokho. Ibou er ein svært aktiv musikar på diverse scener i Oslo, han turnerer blant andre med Karpe, på Diaspora-turnéen deira, og spelar også med andre kjente musikarar, som Bugge Wesseltoft.

Ole André Farstad er frå Harøya i Ålesund kommune, og har lagt verda for sine føter dei siste 20 åra, kor han har studert strengeinstrument og musikk på fleire kontinent. Han er aktiv i veldig mange ulike musikalske samanhengar, på turné verda rundt med metalbandet Abbath, eller med verdsmusikk i banda Meelodi, Tres Musicos eller Miss Tati´s Angola Yangue. Han har også spelt med mange griot-musikarar frå Vest-Afrika. I 2022 gav han ut soloalbumet Streng på Streng, kor han spelar på 16 forskjellige strengeinstrument, og følgjer opp med nytt soloalbum i 2025.

Sidiki Camara er ei levande legende kva perkusjon angår, Camara har samarbeidd med framståande afrikanske musikarar som Mamady Kéita, Kasse Mady Diabaté, Rokia Traoré Habib Korte og Boubacar Traoré. Han har vore gjesteartist på fleire turnéar med Bill Frisells New Quartet, og var også med på Frisells Grammy-nominerte album The Intercontinentals. I 2024 fekk Camara Spellemannprisen i kategorien tradisjonsmusikk, for albumet Return to the traditions.

Tilibo is the name of the collaboration between Bergen-based guitarist and string master Ole André Farstad, and Ibou Cissokho, a kora player from Senegal now living in Oslo. In April 2024, they released their debut album Woo La Ba, where they carry forward the legacy of giants like Toumani Diabaté and Ali Farka Touré through their playful kora-guitar dialogue. Over time, they were joined by the eminent Malian percussionist Sidiki Camara, and together the trio has created an explosive new musical venture — spanning thousand-year-old songs, through blues and jazz, and into modernity. Since the album release, the trio has performed concerts across Norway, and one year into the collaboration, their musical communication is becoming truly fine-tuned.

Ibou Cissokho plays the 21-string West African instrument kora with great virtuosity. He grew up in a renowned family of storytellers and musicians in Senegal, and learned the kora from his father, the celebrated musician Solo Cissokho. Ibou is a highly active figure on Oslo’s music scene, performing with acts like Karpe on their Diaspora tour, and collaborating with well-known musicians such as Bugge Wesseltoft.

Ole André Farstad, from Harøya in Ålesund municipality, has spent the past two decades traveling the world studying string instruments and music across continents. He is involved in numerous musical projects — touring globally with the metal band Abbath, or performing world music with groups like Meelodi, Tres Músicos, and Miss Tati’s Angola Yangue. He has also worked with many griot musicians from West Africa. In 2022, he released the solo album Streng på Streng, where he performs on 16 different string instruments, and will follow it up with a new solo album in 2025.

Sidiki Camara is a living legend in African percussion. He has collaborated with prominent African artists such as Mamady Keïta, Kasse Mady Diabaté, Rokia Traoré, Habib Koité, and Boubacar Traoré. He has appeared as a guest artist on several tours with Bill Frisell’s New Quartet, and was also featured on Frisell’s Grammy-nominated album The Intercontinentals. In 2024, Camara received the Norwegian Spellemann Award in the traditional music category for his album Return to the Traditions.
