19. november
Kl. 11:30 - 13:30
Klubbscenen
It is difficult to preach to the audience that folk music is the genre of community when we, as practitioners, do not know one another.
One of the obstacles that Folk Music as a genre experience in the live scene, is that the genre has its given stages at folk music festivals, local folk music events and dedicated venues, but it still has problems entering the big concert halls, festivals etc.
How do we carve the path for folk musicians into the bigger stages in Scandinavia?
The folk music genre in itself comes from traditions of community, open knowledge sharing and playing together over borders, ages and experiences, while venues work in more competitive ways.
We invite you to come and discuss and start creating from a place of network and activities where organisers come together to share knowledge and practices and learn from each other, and start working closer together to strengthen the Scandinavian Folk Music Scene; from touring routs, to mentorships and all sorts of best practices that exists within the organisations but are rarely shared widely between us.
The train pulls us together and that is needed in the reality of a turbulent world.
We open the brunch for 1. discussions in small groups and 2. short inspirational talks by the hosts and you!
Please send us your input to ways we can form a collaborating folk movement and strengthen the Scandinavian Folk Music Scene.
